2003 TRIP TO THE ROOT OF SOUTHERN SHAOLIN KUNG FU
Due to popular request from Kung Fu practitioners to visit Wong Fei Hong Memorial Museum, a new trip is organized. This time, we will also go further to the famous Shaolin Temples and add in a whole lot more other unique destinations, parties and events. If you missed the wildly successful Wong Fei Hung Museum trip in summer 2001, do not miss the opportunity this time because there will even be more. Martial arts practitioners from any lineage are welcome.

Private lessons, instructor lessons and examinations are available on Jan 18 and Jan 19. Interested parties please register to Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling. Examinations and seminars at other times can be arranged. Admission to instructor lessons subjects to knowledge of Hung Gar Kung Fu.

To celebrate Chinese New Year for the Year of the Horse, the city of San Francisco has organized a huge parade on Feb 24th 2002. Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling was honored to be invited to demonstrate Hung Gar Kung Fu. In front of millions of spectators, reporters and TV crews, Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling demonstrated traditional Hung Gar lion dancing and drumming. The whole parade was being broadcasted on San Franscisco TV channel 2 and 6.

February 15th, 2002
The International Hung Gar Kung Fu Championship will be held from May 9th to 15th 2002 in Italy. Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling will be the main judge and special guest of the event. This is the one major event Hung Gar practitioners cannot miss. Come meet fellow Hung Gar sifus and students!

The itinerary for the Great Grandmaster Wong Fei Hung memorial trip is set. This trip is to celebrate the 145th birthday anniversary of Great Grandmaster Wong Fei Hung at his Memorial Museum.
There are 2 packages available. Package A includes Hong Kong and Fa Shan tour in 5 days from August 24th to 28th. Package B adds Shaolin Temple, Shaolin Festival (Special event), Beijing tour and lots more till September 4th. That is 12 days of packed fun.
August 24 Arrive at Hong Kong.
August 25Gather at Eaton Hotel lobby (http://www.eaton-hotel.com/) at 8:30am. Bus to Lantau Island. Po Lin Monastery and Giant Buddha. Jumbo Restaurant. The Peak.
August 26 - 28Train to Fa Shan. Watch Kung Fu demonstration. Attend Kung Fu seminar. Tour museum and Fa Shan attractions. Watch national Kung Fu tournament.

The 5 days package A Hong Kong/Fa Shan trip costs US$380. It includes seminars with certifications, transportation for Hong Kong tour, train to Fa Shan, accomodations in mainland China, meals and souvenirs. To be flexible to different travelers, transportation to Hong Kong, transportation from Fa Shan and accomodations in Hong Kong (August 24 - 25) are not included.
The 12 days package B Hong Kong/Fa Shan/Shaolin/Beijing trip costs US$1460. It includes package A, transportation, meal and accomodations in mainland China. Transportation leaving from Beijing is not included.

For package A travelers, it would be the full amount of US$380. It is US$500 for package B travelers and the full amount must be paid at least 30 days before the trip. The Fa Shan Government will be hosting the world Wong Fei Hung Hung Ga Kung Fu convention on August 27th 2001 to celebrate the opening of Great Grandmaster Wong Fei Hung's memorial museum in Fa Shen, Guandong, China. Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling is inviting all Hung Ga Kung Fu sifus, practitioners, friends and lovers to join this very special event. This is a great opportunity to visit the newly decorated Wong Fei Hung Memorial Museum, see demonstration of Hung Ga Kung Fu as well as other exciting activities. This is the largest event to celebrate Hung Ga Kung Fu.
The Fa Shan Government has invited Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling to help organize a trip to China for this event. If you are teaching, practicing or just love Hung Ga, do not miss this chance to join our trip. Everybody is welcome to attend this historical event.

Beginning in May 2001 until the 14th, Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling will be holding special seminars in Germany.
The US Army has invited Chiu Chi Ling to teach authentic Hung Ga Kung Fu to US soldiers located in Germany. The seminar will include the essence of self-defense techniques and Hung Ga tiger and crane forms. Being able to spread Hung Ga Kung Fu to more people, Chiu Chi Ling feels honored and proud.

Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling and students demonstrated Hung Ga Kung Fu in a senior center at Vallejo, California on March 10th. This is a volunteer event aiming at servicing seniors in the community. Grandmaster thinks this is a great part of Hung Ga teaching. Students must not only have strong bodies, they must also have strong souls.

March 4th, 2001
International martial art tournament is scheduled to be held in Switzerland from April 28th to 29th 2001. This is second time Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling is invited to this tournament as a special guest. Led by Sifu Martin Sewer, Chiu Chi Ling International Hung Ga Kung Fu Association Switzerland branch will perform traditional southern-style lion dancing at the opening. On April 28th from 4pm to 6pm, Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling will hold a Hung Ga Kung Fu seminar for students who want to improve their learning. Grandmaster Chiu Chi Ling demonstrated traditional Hung Ga lion dancing and drumming in San Francisco Chinese New Year parade on Feb 11th 2001 for the celebration of the year of the snake. This yearly celebration takes part in downtown San Francisco and is observed by millions of people. The whole parade was shown on San Franscisco TV channel 2 and 26.
